Despite its chubby circa-2.2-tonne kerb weight and 4850mm length, the MU-X is relaxed to drive around town, the front-end easily coaxed through sharp turns on iffy T-intersections and parking isn’t too bad given all the sensors and a clear reversing camera.

Throttle response is reasonably good, the steering is direct and the suspension straddles a pleasing balance between ride comfort and handling dynamics.
